Labour-only services (loading/unloading)

All services are subject to availability, operational capacity, and confirmation.

3. Estimates and Quotations

3.1 Non-Binding Estimates

Most quotes provided are non-binding estimates based on the details you provide. Final pricing may vary due to:

Additional items not disclosed
Changes in move size or complexity
Access challenges (stairs, elevators, distance)
Extended time required

3.2 Binding Estimates

If a binding estimate is provided, it will be clearly stated in writing. Changes to the scope of work may void the binding nature of the estimate.

3.3 Accuracy of Information

You agree to provide complete and accurate details about your move. Any inaccuracies may result in revised pricing or service delays.

4. Booking and Deposits

Bookings are only confirmed after written confirmation from Ottawa Pro Movers
A deposit may be required to secure your moving date
Failure to pay the required deposit may result in cancellation of the booking
Time slots are subject to availability and operational scheduling

5. Pricing and Charges

5.1 Service Rates

Services may be charged based on:

Hourly rates
Flat-rate pricing
Custom quotes

5.2 Minimum Charges

A minimum service duration (typically 3 hours) applies to most moves.

5.3 Additional Charges May Apply For:

Stairs, long carries, or difficult access
Heavy or oversized items (e.g., pianos, safes)
Last-minute changes or delays
Waiting time caused by customer or building restrictions
Parking limitations or walking distance
Packing materials and supplies
Additional stops or route changes

5.4 Payment Terms

Payment is due upon completion of the move unless otherwise agreed
We accept major payment methods (credit, debit, etc.)
Late or declined payments may result in additional fees

6. Cancellations and Rescheduling

Cancellations must be made at least 24–48 hours in advance
Late cancellations may result in:
- Loss of deposit
- Cancellation fees
Rescheduling is subject to availability
We reserve the right to reschedule due to:
- Severe weather
- Safety concerns
- Equipment failure
- Operational disruptions

7. Customer Responsibilities

You agree to:

Provide accurate moving details and inventory
Ensure clear access to both locations
Reserve elevators, parking, and loading zones if required
Be present (or have a representative present) during the move
Ensure items are packed properly (unless packing service is booked)
Inform us of:
- Fragile items
- High-value items
- Specialty or oversized items

Failure to meet these responsibilities may result in delays, additional charges, or service limitations.

8. Packing and Handling Policy

Ottawa Pro Movers uses industry-standard packing and moving techniques
Items packed by customers are transported at customer risk, unless damage is proven to be caused by our negligence
We recommend professional packing for fragile, valuable, or sensitive items

9. Liability and Damage Policy

9.1 Basic Coverage

Basic liability coverage is included as required by applicable regulations.

9.2 Limitations of Liability

We are not responsible for:

Pre-existing damage
Items improperly packed by the customer
Mechanical or internal damage (electronics, appliances)
Perishable goods
Cash, jewelry, documents, or valuables not declared

9.3 Damage Claims

All claims must be reported within 48 hours of delivery
Claims must include clear documentation and evidence
Resolution timelines may vary depending on the case

10. Prohibited and Restricted Items

You agree not to include the following in your shipment:

Hazardous or flammable materials
Explosives or toxic substances
Illegal items
Perishable goods (unless agreed)
Live animals

We reserve the right to refuse transport of any restricted or unsafe items.

11. Delays and Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our control, including:

Traffic conditions
Weather disruptions
Mechanical issues
Government restrictions
Building access delays

While we aim to meet all timelines, all delivery and arrival times are estimates.

12. Storage Services

Storage services may be provided through third-party facilities
Ottawa Pro Movers is not responsible for conditions, policies, or incidents at third-party storage locations
Customers are responsible for reviewing storage agreements separately

13. Website Use

By using our website, you agree:

Not to misuse or disrupt the platform
Not to submit false or misleading information
That all content is owned by Ottawa Pro Movers

Unauthorized use may result in legal action.
